Melina Hubbard play areas

Exactly how the projects starts is up to you. You can come to us with an idea about what you want; or we can produce a series of designs, perhaps based around a theme you suggest (or else one that we suggest); or alternatively we are experienced at running workshops, and inspiring a community to come up with ideas and designs, for they really want, given the appropriate setting and budget.

Who we are, and what we do.

Melina Hubbard runs very much a ‘one stop shop production company’, specializing in producing exciting and also sustianable play areas. We can participate at any or all levels of the construction process depending on your individual needs and budget.

Once the design is decided upon, we are able to enter into production, either using our in-house team, or else the  work of crafts people and artists whose work we know and trust.

Our aim in the production process is to ensure that the products we use are as sustainably managed as possible. Not only will our willow be able to turn into living withy tunnels, but also our earth houses and caves is either made from landfill waist (tyres) or else sustainable resources (stone and cob), and our wood are ‘thinnings’ from sustainably managed forests.

At various stage of the production process, we are able (if it is desired) to run workshops, aimed at keeping both schools and communities very much at the heart of the production process.

We will of course ensure that each and every one of our designs remains within health and safety guidelines, and are experienced at keeping the wild desires of children to have fun within the various guidelines.

Because of the way we source our materials, our projects are not particularly  expensive. We also have a track record of staying within budget!

Our principle designer, Melina Hubbard, is on the nation play designers and architects.
