The site is now finished. It includes a pump operated fountain, extensive living withy arch tunnels, a boat, earth house, a walled herb garden, amphitheatre, a maze, and walkways marked out by rockets and stars and sculpture rows.

The Play area was funded by Penwith district council, and the national lottery. It occupies one small corner of a field (approx. 30 m square), tucked away behind the community house. However in spite of its small size,it feels like a minature world in itself.

The site is of 2009 fully operational so well worth the visit, all the more so with you are in Penzance over the summer.

St. Buryan Community Play Area

The Play area is built at St Buryan Community house, along side a more conventional playground. The original theme of the area was Space, taken in its widest sense, complete with Star ship (or Boat), earth house/cave, and amphitheatre observatory. However as the project was at each and every point carried out with the help and advice of its principle users, the local children, the theme developed somewhat.
