Words and The Sense

We currently  offer two workshops in colour and two on words and sounds,  all of which are fun for adults and children

        Wonderful world of colour

Participants are shown different colours, and asked if they know the name for them? They are introduced to some of the more poetic back water of colour names (such as vermillion, cyan, ochre).

They are introduced to the fact that at least one colour can be found for every letter of the alphabet, and helped to write down as many as they can.

Finally they are invited to use some or all of these names in a piece of creative writing of their own.

This workshop will last around an hour and is suitable for ages 10 and above.

       Saying it with sounds?

Can one talk without words/ if so what does one say? And what is one already saying by the tone of voice, and the speed of once delivery? Can one write a poem or a play using sound alone, and if so how is it different from using words. This workshop explores the uncertain, creative world we enter when we leave words behind, and try to directly communicate to one another.

This workshop is suitable for aged 7 and above and should last 1 hour or so.
