Gwavas community site is situated in a deprived area of Penwith. The aim of the overall project was to produce an area which the entire community felt they shared in. The commission undertaken by Melina Hubbard, was designed therefore to both teach new skills, and to give experience in actually designing play areas to a community that often has designs handed down from on high to them.

The site is to be found in Newlyn, Penwith, and the play area is open to the public.
