Jo Barlow designs and builds eco-structures in wood of many kinds, shapes and sizes. He builds roundhouses, barns, potting sheds, rustic pagodas, arbours, swings, barbecue areas, pergolas, with a special interest in designing imaginative play areas, and activity sculptures. As a sculptor and wood carver, he has done many sculptures, held workshops in wood carving at Woodhouse Wood, and has a special interest in musical sculptures and structures

He also makes beautiful lyres and m’biras to traditional Saxon and African designs

from found wood,

and runs workshops in how to make them.

  About the Artist

Jo also specializes in making innovative climbing frames and play designs out of real wood. Each frame is designed both to be an object of beauty as well as a fun place to play.
