Above & right; Building and Burning a Phoenix, from installation and performance piece of the same name at Bicton College.
Wayne is an environmental artist, eco builder, historical renovator and vehicle mechanic, and has a host of other skills. Both creative and immensely practical, he brings a lateral thinker’s approach to both his artistic and his artisan skills – with impressive results. He can make many things from cob ovens to theatre scenery and mend an amazing range of things…
Experience includes having been an apprentice on the team that renovated the plasterwork in the Chapel of St. Peter & St. Paul at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, working on the renovation of Boathouse No. 4 at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and restoration work for the Duke of Buckingham, as well as commissions for fencing, willow workshops, all kinds of building and decorating work, thatching, and adapting vans as living spaces, including for disabled people. Future projects include running courses in liming at Chyan Community Field in Cornwall, and adapting a bus into a mobile workshop.
