Notes on Nissan conversion
This is a Nissan van which I did for a student from Devon who wanted to travel round Spain. It’s only 4ft 4in high and 9ft long.
The van is fully insulated and lined with ply.
It has 2x 110amp batteries to run laptop and music equipment.
It has a fold out single bed which folds down to an L shape seating area which can seat 5 at a push but 4 comfortable.
Towards the back it has a small wardrobe and a table for the laptop the table folds away into the wardrobe to give more space.
The kitchen is made up from a stainless steel sink which I recycled from a skip (There is no water in this van but the sink does drain, just for simplicity) and a new 2 ring and grill camping cooker. This all fits into a low worktop with space underneath for storage boxes.
The blue carpet was going to be fitted by the owner at a later date.
The whole project was completed inside the budget of a £1,000 (excluding the van).
This included the insulation, wood, plumbing, fixings, cooker, carpet and my time.
The project took about 2 weeks. The van is now happy doing its job in Spain.
