Various Philosophers: from Hobbes to the present day!

  1. 1)Falling out of the Box Longish text 41,000 words or so. The first half of a book, with studies on Kant and Heidegger present, and the one on Deleuze absent! The Kant is the Metaphysical foundation, while Heidegger is being and time. It will be finished someday, but until that point is somewhat indifferently drafted.

  2. 2)Meditation on the temporal leap This is an attempt to draw out the double tense stuff in the previous essay (and the first essay in the Dombey and Son sequence). The essay is fine, but it is perhaps the worst drafted on the site!

  3. 3)Piece for an abandoned PhD. This chapter has a chequered history. It was part of PhD that was stopped doing, as interested parties (they had funding, while I did not, I said things they did not like - well that is my story) said the biology was hopeless. Actually the biology is only dodgy in one section (and not at all if you actually read it carefully. The Philosophy (it was meant to be a philosophy PhD) is however fine (although I would put it in a juvenilia section). It is mostly drafted though!

  4. 4)Fractious of Glances Short (3,000 word or so) summary essay of substantive part of Falling out of the Box. Nice introduction to it (and better drafted than Meditations) - but still is Firmly as drafted by Author.

  5. 5)Carry the Effect Home Series of meditations on the multi-faced nature of the Copernican effect. Has weak ending but otherwise strong, and mercifully short (3,000 words or so). If drafted by myself (as well as I can)

  6. 6)Error’s rainbow This is formally off the Spinoza pages, but could have gone here. The science and art of the pre-given, 3,000 words as drafted by the author.

  7. 7)Why Copernicus? A brief (3,000 word) explanation of the different uses of Copernicus in Philosophy and science. Ends with a hymn of praise to Deleuze. But is as drafted...
